Typical Pump Queries

Question :

I've just fitted a new bath and incorporated a monobloc bath filler. The flow rate is now much reduced even though I was advised that there would be enough pressure in the domestic supply (monobloc requires minimum of 1 bar). Previous duobloc filler seemed to have a reasonable flow rate. Domestic supply is indirect, from a storage tank in the loft and a hot water cylinder on the landing below this. The bathroom is also at this level.

Answer:

To have 1 bar your tank would have to be 10m higher than your bath, plus a couple of metres more for pipe losses. I could fix it with a pump but you are talking hundreds of pounds and loads of work - fine if you want a power shower too but otherwise it is taking the mountain to Mohammed. you need a low pressure tap (you will have something like 0.25 bar pressure) as your system is gravity fed.
